Su invito di Greenpeace East Asia il grande Jia Zhang-ke ha realizzato un cortometraggio sul tema dell'inquinamento atmosferico in Cina intitolato Smog Journeys. Sette minuti di poesia visiva che fanno pensare. Con la musica di Lin Qiang, ormai storico collaboratore del regista cinese.

"Il regista cinese Jia Zhangke, Leone d’oro a Venezia nel 2006 con «Still Live», ha realizzato per Greenpeace «Smog Journeys», un corto sull’inquinamento nel nord-est della Cina. «Ho voluto realizzare un film che possa aprire gli occhi alla gente, e che non la spaventi», ha dichiarato Zhangke. «Quello dello smog è un problema che tutti i cinesi devono affrontare, comprendere e risolvere nei prossimi anni». In “Smog Journeys” il regista racconta la vita di due famiglie: una di minatori della provincia di Hebei, l’altra di designer di moda di Pechino."[fonte: corriere della sera]
mia opinione a caldo:
Un corto proprio brutto.
Penso che il fatto che sia così melenso e poco riuscito sia dovuto dal fatto che il lavoro fosse su commissione. Ma da un regista che solitamente è impegnato a smantellare le ipocrisie della propria nazione mi aspettavo di più. Un corto-spot chic (cerca disperatamente di essere estetico ma è di un'estetica che ormai è già vecchia), che affonda nella banalità trattando il tema come lo si trattava esattamente trent'anni fa.
Bocciatissimo. Peccato.
